Lamezia Terme Airport (LICA)

PPR is required and typically granted quickly by email (controllovoli@sacal.it), with no PPR number issued. Only Jet A1 is available; no Avgas. Handling is compulsory but offers little practical assistance, and all fees are invoiced later—payment on site is not possible. There is no briefing room, MET office, or internet/WLAN for self-briefing. A computer and toilet are available in the handling office, but not always proactively offered. GA parking is near the tower; after landing, expect to be collected by bus as walking on the apron is not permitted. On departure, notify staff that you are a private flight to arrange handling; marshalling may be required even for short distances. The small self-service restaurant in the terminal and car hire are available, though rental cars can be expensive without advance booking.

Example: landing and handling fee about €70 if taking less than 500 liters of fuel.

The airport is not especially GA-friendly but can be used for access to destinations like Tropea (about 50 km south). Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
