Handling mandatory - so we had quotes sent for a Mooney M20T and 4 days of parking from the two handling companies Skyservices and Delta Aero Taxi. Both responded to email immediately, but what a difference! Around €100 at Skyservices versus over €500 at Delta. We finally paid €111 at Skyservices for 5 days and received great service. Fast and reliable; he even found our pitot cover that had been blown away by the wind! We did not need AVGAS, so no info here.
Handling is mandatory at Bari (LIBD), with prior coordination required through a handler such as Skyservices (bri@skyservices.it) or Delta Aerotaxi. The handler must be specified in the flight plan, and parking requests are submitted to the handler, with confirmation typically provided several days before arrival. ATC is described as accommodating, and handlers meet aircraft promptly on arrival. No Avgas is available at the airport, including via the local aeroclub.
Fees for a short stay (up to 48 hours) are typically in the range of €230–€250, depending on handler and services. For longer stays, total costs can be higher; for example, a six-day stay resulted in total fees of about €390, including handling and parking. Handling fees vary significantly between providers; Skyservices generally offers lower rates compared to Delta Aerotaxi. Example: total charges for 48 hours about €240.
Facilities include a pilots' lounge with drinks and coffee, and handlers can arrange car hire delivered to the airport; however, on-site car rental is reported as expensive. Security escort is provided when returning to the aircraft.
Avgas is not available at LIBD under any circumstances. For fuel needs, alternatives such as Pescara are used.
