Civil Airfield Alvaro Leonardi (LIAA)

LIAA is a general aviation airfield in central Italy, well-suited for non-commercial GA operations. English radio service is available and generally competent, though some navigation databases do not include the field, requiring manual waypoint entry. Procedures are straightforward, with direct taxi to self-service fuel and easy parking. No landing fees are charged, especially when refueling, and overnight parking is about €20 per night.

Rental cars can be arranged in advance and delivered to the field, with keys often left ready for pickup; Hertz and Europcar both provide this service. A small restaurant or café operates on the field, though opening times may vary; food trucks may appear during events. The airfield offers both grass and paved parking areas, with clean facilities and a helpful staff. Maintenance support is available on site.

Terrain rises north of the field, with possible downdrafts from nearby hills; caution is advised in marginal weather. The area sees significant ultralight and parachute activity. For customs clearance when arriving from outside Italy or Austria, advance notification may be required but can often be handled flexibly by staff.
