In mid march we were the only a/c on the ramp, so it might be different in high season. IFR landing and 3 days parking 95,25€. (light twin) Jet A1 for 1,68€/l. Taxi to Heviz approx. 25€. Very friendly personal. On IFR departure, direct routing to first enroute waypoint. Overall (at least this time of the year) excellent and GA friendly airport.

LHSM (Hévíz-Balaton) is a quiet, GA-friendly airport with a long runway, ILS and RNP approaches, and minimal traffic. ATC operates as "Info" (AFIS), not a control tower; expect traffic information but not clearances. IFR clearances are provided by Budapest Radar, with handoff to LHSM Info for final approach. A flight plan is always required for arrivals and departures. Opening hours can be short, sometimes closing as early as 16:00 LT; check AIP/NOTAM for current times.
Ground handling is efficient and friendly, with quick turnarounds common. Fuel trucks (Avgas and Jet A1) are available at the aircraft within minutes after landing. Fuel prices for non-Hungarian aircraft are higher than local rates. Payment is typically by electronic invoice, payable by card or transfer; cash may be required for fuel in some cases. Parking is assigned near the cargo hall, about 300 meters from the terminal.
Customs and immigration are available on the field without prior notice, supporting both Schengen and non-Schengen flights. Processing is generally fast and uncomplicated.
There is no on-field restaurant or catering except during scheduled commercial flights; a small bar may be open when traffic exists. An ATM is in the terminal. Taxis to Hévíz or Keszthely take 25–30 minutes at a fixed price of €25; taxi drivers accept HUF/EUR and cards. Car rental desks are only staffed when commercial flights operate; otherwise, advance arrangement is necessary.
Facilities include tie-downs (sometimes provided by staff), overnight parking, and occasional access to briefing rooms with internet. The airport website offers detailed information in multiple languages.
Noise abatement or bird hazards (such as storks in summer) may occur; wind gusts up to 30 kt are possible but usually aligned with the runway. Taxiways can be shabby or rough in places.
