Civil Airfield Fertőszentmiklós (LHFM)

Friendly general aviation airfield near the Austria-Hungary border with a welcoming atmosphere and efficient service. Runway and apron are in good condition. Both 100LL and Jet-A1 are available, with card payment accepted for fuel. Example: landing and parking for two nights about €15. Example: landing fee about €20. A rental car is available on site for about €40 per day, or at €0.80 per km for local trips.

A restaurant is present on the field, though availability may vary during management transitions; food is generally described as tasty but group service can be slow when busy. Accommodation options nearby include the Schlosshotel Szidonia, 10–15 minutes away by car or shuttle, with some pensions in town offering shuttle service for groups.

English, German, and Hungarian are spoken by staff; radio communication in English is generally clear, though some reports note occasional difficulty with accent. Strict adherence to the published circuit pattern is required. Customs clearance is available on request; advance notice by phone or fax is necessary for customs to be present.

A maintenance workshop is located on site for repairs if needed. The airfield offers GPS-based IFR procedures. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
