Civil Airfield Balatonkeresztur (LHBK)

LHBK is a private, well-maintained grass airfield near the southwest shore of Lake Balaton. The runway is not immediately visible from the north due to a narrow forest strip; approach requires attention to avoid flying too low over the field. Circuit procedures include landing on 32 and departure on 14, with avoidance of overflying the nearby town. The published frequency is 118.340, but radio response is not guaranteed; blind calls are standard. PPR is required, but permission is generally granted without issue.

Facilities are basic, with no fuel available on site; fuel can be arranged via taxi to a nearby station with assistance from staff. Drinks are available at the airfield, and internet access is reported. Accommodation options include a simple guesthouse (Reiterhof) within walking distance, and camping is possible. Hangar space exists but may be tight for larger aircraft; overnight parking is available. The airfield staff are described as friendly and helpful, with German spoken.

The village and lake are accessible by foot (about 20 minutes) or taxi (about €20 one way). The area offers restaurants, a beach, and tourist activities such as boat trips.

Landing fees are low; Example: landing about €10. Additional landings may be free or discounted after the second landing. Hangar overnight fees have been about €10–20 per night.

No customs or immigration services are available. For international arrivals into Hungary, a flight plan is required.
