Zakinthos / Dionisios Solomos Airport (LGZA)

PPR and handling are mandatory for all arrivals. Slot approval is required for IFR arrivals and departures, but not for VFR flights. Handling is provided by local agents such as Goldair or Swissport, with AOPA members sometimes receiving reduced rates. Example: total fees about €230 for a one-week stay. GA parking is limited and also requires approval. Precise STA and STD must be provided; general time ranges are not accepted.

No Avgas (100LL) is available; only Jet-A1 is offered. Refueling with automotive fuel is not permitted, though some have managed it with difficulty in the past. Fuel and handling services are described as efficient and fast.

Transport to Zakynthos town is by taxi, with an example fare of €20. The airport is located about 5 km from Laganas. Bicycles can be rented locally.

The airport can become busy during holiday periods, with limited GA parking and possible operational constraints; NOTAMs should be checked for parking restrictions or operational hours. The island offers scenic approaches and attractive destinations, but the airport is considered expensive for short stays. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
