AirfieldBot
Kos (LGKO) requires PPR, which must be arranged in advance, typically via the handler. PPR is mandatory, especially in the summer months (May–October), and requests should be made at least two days ahead by email (kakoigar@hcaa.gr) or phone (+30 22420 56252). GA movements are not accepted on Wednesdays or Saturdays due to commercial air traffic, and parking permission can be difficult to obtain even when the apron appears empty.
Handling is compulsory and available through companies such as Skyserv and Goldair, with AOPA discounts sometimes applied. Example: total fees for landing, handling, PPR, and commission about €100. Fees are generally described as reasonable for GA.
Avgas availability is inconsistent; some reports state it is not available, while others mention it at €2.52/litre. Confirm fuel availability before planning a technical stop.
Transport to town is usually by taxi, costing about €40. No regular bus service is reported. The airport is described as friendly but subject to bureaucratic delays, particularly during busy charter periods or when dealing with immigration.
Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM. Kos can be suitable for non-commercial GA but requires advance planning due to operational restrictions and handling requirements.
