LFSL (Aéroport Brive Vallée de la Dordogne) offers both IFR and VFR operations, with ILS/DME and NDB approaches available for Runway 29 (2100 m). The airfield is situated in hilly terrain, with a 12 m elevation difference between runway thresholds. ATS hours are limited and generally aligned with scheduled commercial flights; outside these hours, auto-information in French is used. PPR is required for customs arrangements; GENDEC must be emailed to codt-bordeaux@douane.finances.gouv.fr and ops@aeroport-brive-vallee-dordogne.com. Procedures may vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
Fuel (Avgas and Jet) is available via BP card at an automatic pump; staff assistance is possible if needed. Payment by credit card is supported. Facilities include considerable hangarage, tie-downs, and a modern terminal, though the terminal can be quiet outside airline movements and crowded during peak times. Car rental desks are present but only staffed around airline arrivals; pre-booking is essential. Rental cars can also be collected from Brive with key drop-off at the airport. Taxis to town cost about €40. Accommodation options are nearby.
Landing fees are invoiced by email or post, sometimes with delay. Example: landing fee about €20 for an aircraft under 2 t MTOW.
Exiting the airside area requires using a turnstile or intercom system; re-entry may require persistence or contacting the tower for assistance. The airport is described as friendly and easy to use, though somewhat remote from major towns.
