AirfieldBot
IFR arrivals are straightforward, with friendly and helpful tower and staff. The airfield is adjacent to the Le Mans race circuit, and a trip into town takes about 15–20 minutes by taxi. The airport is normally open Monday to Friday; weekend operations require advance request and incur an extra fee for opening and ATS extension. No ATS is available during weekends unless arranged. During major events, fees can be significantly higher; Example: total charges about €200 for landing, parking (2 nights), and handling during an event. Outside of events, fees are much lower; Example: landing fee about €20.
Refuelling is available 24 hours with a Total card at a fixed Avgas installation north of the tower. Customs can be arranged by email as per the address in the IAP; customs presence is possible on request, including weekends if coordinated in advance. Security procedures include baggage screening before departure.
During weekends without ATC, arrivals use Nantes Approach until the IAF, then calls are made in French on the airfield frequency; circling minima apply when ATC is unavailable. Walking from parking to arrivals hall is short, but access to the race circuit may require a lengthy walk or taxi if no shuttle is running. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
