Civil Airfield Grandville Mont Saint Michel (LFRF)

Granville (LFRF) offers a scenic coastal location with straightforward VFR arrivals and departures, typically using air-to-air frequency with standard French position calls. The asphalt runway and taxiways are in good condition, and grass parking is well kept. Parachuting activity is present, especially on weekends, but does not generally restrict GA movements; procedures follow standard midfield crossing and circuit joining if the tower is not staffed.

AVGAS (Total 100LL) is available via Total card or credit card at the pump; payment may also be arranged through the aeroclub if needed. Landing fees are handled by filling out a form at the aeroclub below the tower, with invoices sent later; if unattended, payment can be left in a postbox by the welcome desk. Example: landing and parking about €30. The aeroclub is welcoming and helpful, often assisting with local arrangements such as taxis or providing gate codes for 24/7 apron access.

The beach is a few minutes’ walk from the airfield, accessible either by road or along the runway via a low fence. A family sea resort and municipal campsite are just north of the field, visible from the runway; hotel accommodation is available nearby. There is an on-field restaurant with good food, and another restaurant at the local golf course within walking distance.

The airport’s proximity to Mont St. Michel makes it a popular sightseeing stop. A taxi ride to Granville town takes about 10 minutes, while walking or cycling covers roughly 5–9 km depending on route. Camping facilities are adjacent to the airfield.

No customs or immigration services are currently active; former facilities appear unused. The environment is relaxed and suitable for non-commercial general aviation flights under 2 t MTOW.
