Charleville Mezieres Airport (LFQV)

LFQV is conveniently located for entry into France from southwestern Germany or via southeastern Belgium, with simple airspace and a 1500 m asphalt runway in good condition. The field is generally quiet with little traffic, and French is required for radio communication. There is no aerodrome information service most of the time; runway selection is usually at pilot discretion. At times, contact with Paris Info on 125.700 can be unreliable in the area. Flight plans can be closed on the ground using +33 156 301 301 (select Département 08 for Ardennes).

Facilities are minimal: there is a self-service Avgas pump secured by a roll-up door, which can be opened easily; assistance may not always be available during weekdays, so contacting the administration or aeroclub in advance is advisable if refuelling is needed. Lounge and bathrooms are available, but no bar or food service should be expected. The airfield and apron are well maintained.

Transport to Charleville may require a taxi or informal lift; no regular ground transport is mentioned. Customs require PPR.

Turbulence may occur on approach to runway 29 with northerly winds due to nearby trees. No landing fee is consistently reported; one example mentions an underwing parking fee of about €5. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
