Civil Airfield Sarre Union (LFQU)

LFQU is a small aerodrome in northwest Alsace with restricted use status; prior approval from the DGAC is generally required, mainly for insurance reasons, and advance application is advised. Radio frequency 123.5 is shared with other nearby airfields, so careful listening is necessary to avoid confusion. Communication in French is preferred, though some English is understood; many on site speak German.

No landing fees are charged. Avgas is available, typically after a phone call, and assistance with refueling and flight plan filing is offered by helpful staff. The on-field restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere but has a limited menu during the day and higher prices; Flammkuchen is served only in the evenings.

The town of Sarre-Union can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes (approximately 1.5 km), though amenities and dining there are limited and relatively expensive. The aeroclub can assist with obtaining landing permission.
