Very friendly and helpful staff. The parking ramp was not in great condition, so the staff kindly suggested they will help me pull the plane to the main apron to start it there...
Used it as base to visit Loire Valley from the UK and was quite efficient.

LFOT is a straightforward and welcoming airport for general aviation, with both VFR and IFR procedures available, including RNP and ILS approaches. All PPR and handling are managed via the myhandling website or app, with a 24-hour advance notice required. The airport is occasionally subject to military activity; the restricted area LF-R-334 over the field is only active during military use, but it is advisable to check status and, on weekdays, call OPS Authority at 02 47 85 83 30 before arrival. ATC communicates well in English and is described as professional and accommodating.
Customs and immigration are available for all international flights, including Schengen arrivals and departures. Customs must be notified 24 hours in advance through the FBO; procedures are generally smooth, but delays may occur if customs officers are not present on arrival. When commercial flights operate, GA passengers may be escorted through security and passport control; otherwise, passport officers come to the GA office. Contact for customs: +33 9 70 27 63 60.
Fuel (Avgas and Jet-A1) is available at self-service pumps; payment by credit card is accepted without requiring a fuel card. Refuellers are helpful, but Avgas prices can be high compared to other French airports. Example: parking about €20.
Facilities include a business aviation centre, lounge with WiFi, and restrooms. No tie-downs are provided on the apron; staff assist with moving aircraft if needed. Car rental (Europcar, Avis) is available on site with limited hours. Two simple hotels are within walking distance.
Ground access to Tours city centre is convenient via tram; the stop is about a 10-minute walk from the terminal, trams run every 8 minutes, cost €1.70–€1.80 per trip, and take about 25 minutes to reach downtown. Taxis are also available outside the terminal for €15–€20.
The airport serves as an efficient base for visiting Tours or the Loire Valley region. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful throughout all aspects of operations.
