Pilot Comments for LFMP
Timo
The information is still correct.
PPR requests are processed very quickly.
GA parking North is relatively close to the terminal, where rental cars are available.
PA46 (1960 kg) landing fee 20 Euro
Parking 0.55 Euro per hour
Gunter
Good and affordable AD for small GA in this corner of France. Everything can be done via AEROPS including parking PPR - very convenient! We paid 55€ for landing and three days parking with a Mooney in Oct 2025 (around 17€ was the landing, rest parking). The Avgas pump (Carte TOTAL required) is close to the threshold 31 where there is nothing else. It’s therefore a good idea to request 31 or 13 for landing. After refueling one has to taxi to the GA parking north of the main apron. From there it’s a short walk to the terminal. The code for the access gate is sent with the invoice by AEROPS. From the terminal there are buses to town and rental cars are available. Just as a fuel stop LFMU (Beziers) might be better as there are no facilities near the pump in LFMP.

Perpignan (LFMP) is a GA-friendly airport with both IFR and VFR procedures, requiring PPR for landing and parking, which can be arranged online via AeroPS or MyDz. After payment, a code is provided for access through the GA apron gate. IFR approaches are available, and ATC is generally competent, though some pilots note occasional confusing circuit instructions and altitude clearances over rising terrain; careful attention to ATC and AIP/NOTAM is advised. The airport can experience strong, gusty northwest winds (Tramontane), leading to turbulence on approach.
Landing fees are moderate. Example: landing about €20; combined landing and two nights’ parking about €40. Parking is on the north GA apron with tie-down rings available; bring your own ropes. Payment for fees is handled online via AeroPS or MyDz, with occasional technical issues—verify amounts before confirming payment.
AVGAS is available at a self-serve Total station south of runway 31, payable by Total Card or standard credit card; using a Total Card speeds up the process. Fuel prices have been reported as around €2.70/litre. Refueling without a Total Card may take longer but assistance is available by phone.
Access from the GA apron to the terminal is via a revolving gate; after payment you receive a PIN code for re-entry. The path includes gravel—large-wheeled trolleys are recommended for luggage. The terminal offers car rental services (best reserved in advance), taxis to the city cost about €30, and bus line 7 runs every 30 minutes on weekdays. Walking distance from GA apron to terminal is about 200 meters.
Customs and border police require 48 hours’ advance notice for non-Schengen arrivals or departures on weekends; failure to notify may result in denied entry. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM for operational details.
Overall, LFMP offers efficient online handling and moderate fees, with practical facilities for non-commercial GA pilots seeking access to Perpignan and the surrounding region.
