Vichy Charmeil Airport (LFLV)

IFR approaches are available, including LPV, but require active ATS; without ATS (often on weekends), only VFR or visual approaches are possible, and French is needed for radio calls. Tower operates mainly for commercial flights; otherwise, AFIS provides service in English. No landing fee is typically collected when no staff are present; otherwise, invoicing may occur later by post or email, with payment not accepted on-site. Example: landing and one night about €30. Avgas is available via Air Total automat with a private card or by arrangement with the airport or aeroclub; self-service is possible. Small GA parking is on the apron near the C-office building, not at the main terminal. The aeroclub offers basic amenities and sometimes drinks but no restaurant; toilets are in the aeroclub building. The main terminal appears unused and dated.

Transport to Vichy city centre is by taxi, costing about €30 each way and taking around 10 minutes; delays of up to 30 minutes for taxis can occur. Walking to town is not practical. The city offers notable architecture, parks, and riverside restaurants. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
