Soulac Sur Mer Airport (LFDK)

LFDK offers a straightforward, well-maintained airfield with a 770 m runway free of obstacles and in good condition. Operations use air-to-air or blind calls in French; the field is unattended except for occasional aeroclub presence. No landing or parking fees apply. Fuel (100LL and Jet A1) is available via self-service with a Total card, but supply may be restricted by NOTAM during events or busy holiday periods; alternative fuel is usually available at LFCY or LFCJ. Parking is on hard apron or grass with good tie-down options, though pilots should bring their own ropes.

The aeroclub provides a friendly atmosphere and basic amenities, including coffee. The field is located in a rural area; cycling to the coast or nearby towns is feasible, and Soulac can be reached by taxi within minutes. Car and bike rentals are available in town, with train connections to Pouillac (about 30 minutes) and Bordeaux (about 90 minutes). Active parachute operations take place throughout the summer, requiring strict adherence to the circuit and awareness of parachute landing zones northeast of the field. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
