Royan (LFCY) offers both VFR and IFR operations and can be busy in summer due to parachuting activity. AFIS/ATC service is generally available, with some reports of French-only radio communication, though English may be offered at times. AFIS hours include a midday closure, typically from 11:00 to 13:15, during which landing is possible but fuel is unavailable. Night operations are possible via pilot-controlled lighting.

AVGAS (100LL) and JetA1 are available, but fuel payment requires a Total card; no other payment methods are accepted. Fuel is not available during the midday break. The airfield features good infrastructure, and the local flying club is helpful with fueling and minor technical needs.

A restaurant, L'Escale, is located on the field and is recommended for quality and value; it is closed on Sundays. Taxis to Royan town cost about €20. Example: landing fee about €10. The airport provides quick access to the beach.

Short final for runway 10 can be turbulent due to nearby industrial buildings. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
