Civil Airfield Bagneres De Luchon (LFCB)

LFCB is situated in a narrow valley directly adjacent to the town, with a 775-meter runway at 2000 feet MSL. Approaches and departures require careful planning due to the tight terrain; maintain a path well to the right of the hillside and expect a relatively short final, especially for runway 01. Local pilots typically fly long finals and remain high on downwind over the town for noise abatement, with final approach passing over the town center. Density altitude and wind conditions are important considerations, and morning fog can persist, potentially causing delays. The circuit is tight but manageable, with positions called on 123.5 MHz.

No landing fees apply. Avgas 100LL is available, reportedly at a very favorable price, but payment may be cash only. Facilities include WiFi and toilets; drinks are available on weekends when glider activity is present. The airfield is known for its friendly and helpful atmosphere.

The town center is accessible on foot in 10–15 minutes (about 1 km), with several restaurants nearby—though some may be closed on Tuesdays. Accommodation options include a well-rated hotel within walking distance, and a golf course is also nearby. Taxis are scarce.

There are no restrictions for visiting pilots currently in effect; prior limitations requiring mountain qualification or local authorization are no longer enforced according to local sources. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
