Suitable for both VFR and IFR operations with professional ATC and English available. RNAV approaches are available. For VFR, mandatory entry and exit reporting points and altitudes apply; consult the VAC. PPR is required for GA parking exceeding 24 hours, and overnight parking space can be limited, so advance inquiry is advised. The airport handles both civil and military traffic, with periods of high activity including parachute operations.
AVGAS is available at a self-service station with BP card; otherwise, a fuel attendant can be requested, and payment by Visa or MasterCard is possible. After refueling, taxi to the GAT at the west end of the field; do not exit via the hangar near the fuel station. Fuel stops are described as quick and inexpensive with a BP card.
No handling is required for typical GA flights. Example: landing fee about €20. No customs formalities for intra-Schengen flights; customs officers are present on site.
A modern business terminal is available, and car rental desks (Hertz, Sixt) are located in the adjacent hall. The city of Pau is nearby and accessible.
Maintenance services are available on site with a well-regarded workshop. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
