What other pilots say about LEZL

Since Grenada was not an option due to weather, coming from Marokko we had to enter in Sevilla. Handling for non-Schengen arrival is mandatory – cost €150. The required airport slot and transmission of passport data were also organized by Swissair. Avgas at €2.88 per liter and airport fees for 1 night about €40 – both payable by credit card. Entry and exit via a separate security checkpoint. Very beautiful city – about €25 by taxi.

Handling is mandatory for all flights, including intra-Schengen, and must be arranged in advance with a PPR code and handler name included in the flight plan. Andalucia Aviation Services is frequently used and provides efficient, friendly service with quick email responses. Slot/PPR requests are required and typically coordinated by the handler. ATC is described as friendly and efficient, though local airspace can be busy due to nearby flying school activity. Both VFR and IFR arrivals are supported, with standard instrument approaches available.

Fees for a typical short stay (landing, parking, handling, slot/PPR, airport tax) generally range from about €150 to €230 depending on duration and services. Example: basic handling about €120, slot/PPR about €30, airport/parking/security fees about €60. For longer stays or additional services, total costs can increase; one example for three nights including handling and slot fees is about €140, with airport tax and parking about €50 extra. Some reports note higher totals when additional services or longer parking are involved.

Fuel is available on the apron and can be arranged via the handler; AirBP card is accepted. Refuelling is generally straightforward when coordinated by the handler, but occasional waits may occur during busy periods. Taxi to Seville city center takes around 20 minutes and can be arranged by the handler; typical taxi fare to the city is about €30.

Airport access procedures involve security checks and may require walking 10–15 minutes between GA areas and terminals; handlers assist with guidance through these processes. For flights arriving from or departing to non-Schengen countries (e.g., Morocco, Switzerland), handling is compulsory and passenger data must be sent in advance to sevilla.pfaextdoc@policia.es; slots are requested via svq.operaciones.ceops@aena.es.

The airport layout is large but well marked; marshallers guide aircraft to parking stands. Some reports mention bureaucracy and language barriers at security or payment offices, but staff are generally helpful when using a handler. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.

LEZL is suitable for non-commercial general aviation visits to Seville but expect mandatory handling arrangements, moderate-to-high fees, and some procedural complexity typical of larger airports.
