What other pilots say about LERJ
Compared to other AENA airports in Spain, LERJ is quite good. No handling is required. There is a rather large FTO at the field, so ATC and ground staff are used to piston GA. Avgas is available by fuel truck and it arrived quickly after our arrival. Fees are as usual: around 20€ landing and 15€ parking per day below two tons. PPR is not strictly mandatory but you may want to shoot an email. Check AIP and NOTAMs for opening hours. Currently VFR operations are possible all day long but IFR operations are not possible during a long siesta break. There is a bus going to town but it runs infrequently. A taxi is about 30€. Unfortunately Logroño isn’t the most interesting city in Spain.
LERJ operates with limited opening hours, typically mornings until 11:00 and for about 1–1.5 hours in the late evening; always check AIP and NOTAMs for current times. PPR is not strictly required within published hours but is advisable to confirm availability. Formalities can take up to an hour due to bureaucratic procedures, though staff are described as friendly. ATC is helpful on arrival.
Landing fees vary; Example: landing and overnight parking about €40. Reported fees range from €30 to €60. Avgas is available but often more expensive than in nearby France. No tie-down points are present on the apron.
Taxis to the city cost about €20–€25. The terminal is described as oversized and quiet, with minimal traffic and numerous staff present. For flight plan printouts and fee payment, use the first floor ("Operations").
