Acceptable AENA airport, no handling required. Unfortunately there is no AVGAS available. We paid 60€ for landing and two days parking with a Mooney. You have to leave and return via the huge new terminal which is completely deserted as there are no commercial flights.
You’re probably best off calling a taxi to town, but you could also walk to the nearby village from where there are buses.
The city of León is beautiful and well worth a visit.
There is now sort of an online process to pay the fees at all AENA ADs, it works as follows: First you have to ask OPS of the AD by email (see AIP for the address) how much you have to pay. Thereafter you pay via this website: https://www.aena.es/sites/Satellite?d=Touch&pagename=TPV_Pagos_Aeropuertos Then you send a mail to OPS again and finally you get the receipt by email. A bit tedious but this way you don’t have to to go to the office (what you still can, if you prefer).

IFR arrivals and parking for one night are straightforward without prior notice or handling, but IFR procedures must be well prepared as vectors are not provided. Payment is made at the Operations Office located in the old terminal, about 8 minutes on foot from the new terminal; the process is friendly and efficient. Example: total approach, landing, and parking for one night about €40. The airport is generally quiet with low traffic and a reputation for bureaucratic processes, sometimes requiring significant walking between terminals for flight planning and security. Staff are described as helpful and friendly. The airport is approximately 6 km from León’s city center, with taxi rides to the city or train station costing around €20. Avgas is not available; Jet A1 refueling can be slow and is best done immediately after landing. The old town of León is considered a worthwhile destination. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
