IFR arrivals and parking for one night are straightforward without prior notice or handling, but IFR procedures must be well prepared as vectors are not provided. Payment is made at the Operations Office located in the old terminal, about 8 minutes on foot from the new terminal; the process is friendly and efficient. Example: total approach, landing, and parking for one night about €40. The airport is generally quiet with low traffic and a reputation for bureaucratic processes, sometimes requiring significant walking between terminals for flight planning and security. Staff are described as helpful and friendly. The airport is approximately 6 km from León’s city center, with taxi rides to the city or train station costing around €20. Avgas is not available; Jet A1 refueling can be slow and is best done immediately after landing. The old town of León is considered a worthwhile destination. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
