Badajoz Airport (LEBZ)

LEBZ is a large joint military/civil airport with a modern and friendly civil terminal located north of the field. VFR private flights are permitted, but contact with both civil and military towers by phone is required before arrival. Approach is straightforward, but communication with Sevilla Approach may be necessary and radio contact typically occurs shortly before arrival due to surrounding terrain; remain below 4000 feet en route. The airport has very little traffic and a vast parking area. Fuel is available, but the fuel station may observe a long midday closure; VAT number is required for refueling, and the fuel attendant can be requested via tower. Payment for landing fees is handled at the terminal in the first floor airport office, accessible by elevator, and requires a confirmed flight plan from the on-site computer; allow extra time for paperwork.
