Dubrovnik (LDDU) offers efficient ATC and generally prompt ground handling, with both VFR and IFR operations supported. Communication for slots, handling, and parking is typically fast via email, with contacts including stationmanager@airport-dubrovnik.hr and generalaviation@airport-dubrovnik.hr. However, parking for aircraft up to 2000 kg MTOW is sometimes unavailable, particularly during peak periods or by NOTAM, and no exceptions are made through handling.
Fees for GA have increased significantly in recent years. Handling is mandatory and forms a large part of the total cost. For technical stops or short stays, total charges commonly range from about €200 to over €300 depending on duration and services; handling alone is often about €110–€150. Example: landing, start, two nights parking with handling about €320; technical stop landing fee about €220; overnight stop with handling about €210. Parking fees for overnight stays can be around €10–€20 per night when available. Payment by card is accepted.
Fueling is generally quick, with Avgas and Jet A1 available; fuel trucks usually arrive within minutes of request. Facilities include a dedicated GA terminal (sometimes closed), tie-downs or chocks (though self-service may be required), and organized ground transport between aircraft and terminal. On-field car hire is available, and accommodation options exist nearby in Cavtat or at Sky Appartments (about 900 m from the airport), often with shuttle service.
Transport to Dubrovnik city center takes 20–45 minutes by taxi (about €30–€40 each way) or by shuttle bus when available; boat transfers from Cavtat are also possible. Customs and passport control are generally efficient but can occasionally involve delays.
The airport sits on a plateau with scenic approaches over water; turbulence may occur on approach to runway 11 in certain wind conditions. Procedures may vary; see AIP/NOTAM for operational details. Overall, LDDU remains the primary gateway for GA access to Dubrovnik but at high cost, especially for short stops or technical landings.
