Pilot Comments for LCLK

Larnaca is the main airport for Cyprus and therefore large and expensive. You'll often have departure delays because you're number 8 after Easyjet, Ryanair, DHL and UPS. Paphos/LCPH is much less busy.
There are some flight school who might be able to help you to navigate the bureaucracy if you insist going to Larnaca, contact Demos Ektoros dektoros@asoc.aero at the Pigeon Aviation School of Cyprus.

Larnaca is a large, complex airport with mandatory handling for all GA flights, including fuel stops. Multiple handling companies operate; Airmotive is described as helpful and less expensive than larger firms, while Abelair is also mentioned as suitable for GA. Operations are bureaucratic, with required prior permission and multiple Gen Decs even within the EU. Delays and coordination issues between airport departments can occur. There is a dedicated light aircraft pan with some facilities such as servicing and toilets. Avgas is very expensive. IFR procedures are straightforward, but VFR transits across Cyprus are convoluted due to fully controlled airspace. Contact: Savvas Vasiliades 99021326.
