Information from pirep.io:

Description: This is a weird airport. It was originally build in the middle of nowhere during the heyday of "The Jet Age" when people thought Concorde was the future and the noise would be disruptive to developed urban centers. But building in the swamp is hard and causes significant environmental impact to the region, so the development plans were shelved, and we're left with 10,500 feet of unused airport runway in the middle of the Everglades. You can request permission to land here, if you want to be attacked by mosquitos in South Florida. The form is on the website for the airport. If you're a single pilot flying recreationally under Part 91, you want a "Type C" permit, which is fee-free. Otherwise, there's an RNAV approach to Runway 9 if you want a reason to "visit" this airport.

Transient Parking: There's plenty of parking on the ramp, if you have a permit and a strong desire to stop here.
