Half Moon Bay Airport (KHAF)

Description: A popular getaway, under the shadow of the Bay-area traffic, the airport services Half Moon Bay. The county government has a website about the airport, which includes noise abatement procedures. The Pilot Light Cafe is located on the field for quick food options. Additionally, the town itself has a website with lots of activities. There are usually larger festivals in the late spring and fall, if you're looking for a reason to visit. The field can be socked in with a thin, low cloud layer, so check local forecasts before setting off. If the weather doesn't cooperate, you can wait it out at one of the nearby airports. Palo Alto (KPAO) is a convenient, busy, GA field, but its 2400' runway should be noted before diverting there. Instrument approaches are available, but review the plates and ensure you are comfortable with the distance over the open ocean the missed for 30 may take you.

Transient Parking: Ample parking is available on the ramp. The southeast corner of the field has an exit and a short walk to several resturants and attarctions.
