Handling is mandatory. Example: total handling, landing, and parking about €320, payable by MasterCard. Fuel is available and must be paid in cash, either in EUR or MAD; when paying in MAD, a currency exchange or ATM receipt is required. Only up to 2,000 MAD may be taken out of the airport. Change is often treated as a tip, so small notes are useful. IFR operations are handled professionally. Notify the airport at least 24 hours before arrival; do not rely solely on Eurocontrol for flight plan transmission—sending a fax is recommended. Filing the flight plan on a paper form is standard. The C-office is located in the tower building and managed by controllers. Wearing a pilot shirt with epaulets can simplify airside access; have a Gendec ready for officers.
Ground procedures can involve multiple uniformed officials and repeated document checks; expect to show passports and destination details several times. For technical stops or refueling only, indicate this in the flight plan to reduce entry formalities and fees. Efficient processing is possible when not busy, but administrative steps may cause delays.
Fuel payment requires cash; fuel price examples are not included here per instructions. Taxi to Agadir city center takes 30–45 minutes. Only up to two contacts may be listed, but none are provided in the reports.
Overall, GMAD supports non-commercial GA operations with mandatory handling and professional IFR service, but administrative procedures can be time-consuming and require preparation with documents and cash for payments.
