Tenerife North (GCXO) requires mandatory handling for all GA flights, including for short fuel stops, with advance coordination necessary. Handling is provided by private agents such as Brok-Air, and fees are high compared to other Canary Islands airports. Example: handling about €320, slot coordination about €30, landing/parking about €30, and service fee about €5. Avgas is available, though it may not always be ready on arrival. The airport supports customs for international flights. The field is busy with frequent IFR traffic and weather can change rapidly, often resulting in IMC and holding delays; the runway sits on a plateau with strong winds affecting approaches. The city of La Laguna is very close to the airport. Contacting the Aero Club Tenerife by phone is recommended for local arrangements; phone numbers include +34 675 89 07 10 and 922637877. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
