Civil Airfield Kaunas/S.Dariaus Ir S.Girėno (EYKS)

EYKS offers straightforward VFR operations with friendly, helpful staff and English-speaking radio service. The airfield is a well-established GA alternative to Kaunas International, with low traffic and relaxed procedures. Approaches are typically limited to 1200 ft MSL due to controlled airspace above; do not overfly the Nemunas River north of the field as it marks the boundary with Kaunas International’s control zone. Runway and taxiways have undergone recent resurfacing, though some reports note previously rough or cracked surfaces—current conditions are generally acceptable. Lighting can be activated by five clicks on the radio at dusk.

Self-service fuel (UL91 and 100LL) is available by card, but advance coordination is recommended, especially for 100LL or larger quantities; fuel supply may be limited on weekends or outside normal hours. Maintenance support is available on-site. Parking is plentiful, with secure fencing around the airport; access outside opening hours is possible via a route near the Aviation Museum or by arranging for the southern gate to be opened by phone.
