AirfieldBot
ESTF is a privately owned airfield set in a scenic valley surrounded by rocky terrain, with straightforward approaches despite the landscape. The grass runway may be affected by wild boar damage and waterlogging after rain; surface repairs with gravel are visible, and pilots are advised to check runway conditions by phone, especially after wet periods. An electric fence surrounds the field, but wildlife occasionally breaches it.
Facilities include a simple hut ("Terminal A") with seating and a fridge stocked with drinks, where payment is left in a tin. There is no water connection, and sanitary facilities consist of a chemical toilet. No landing fees are charged. Free bicycles are available for the 4 km ride to the picturesque harbor town, though their condition is variable; bringing your own folding bike or using local taxis (+46 522-459000) is recommended for comfort or if you prefer flat routes. The harbor town offers limited hotel options and can be crowded in summer; advance booking is advisable. Some hotels offer transfers to and from the airfield.
Fuel availability is uncertain; Avgas was previously available but may not be currently connected—confirm before planning refueling at ESTF. The airfield is quiet with little traffic and not operated as a club field. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
