Civil Airfield Optand (ESNM)

Open 24 hours, the airfield is club-operated and well maintained, with an asphalt runway in good condition and two grass runways available in strong crosswind. No landing or parking fees. Fuel options include Avgas, UL91, and JET-A1; payment by credit card is possible, but advance contact by phone or email (info@flygklubben.se) is recommended to ensure club presence for fueling. In winter (November to April), snow conditions may affect operations.

Accommodation is available in a rentable hut with bunk beds and access to showers; bedding and towels can be provided for a small extra charge. A four-seat Saab car is available for hire to explore the area, subject to availability. If the car is not available, a public bus (line 110) departs hourly from a stop 500 meters or 10 minutes’ walk from the airfield, connecting to Östersund; return service in the evening uses line 127.

Facilities include a clubhouse with beds and showers, and an on-field aviation museum focused on World War I aircraft and technology. Occasional light refreshments are available at the clubhouse. Radio contact is typically unattended; use blind calls as standard procedure.
