Ölanda Airport (ESMZ)

PPR is required and typically granted quickly. The airfield has a 600 m asphalt runway in good condition with pilot-controlled lighting. Fuel is available on site, dispensed by a hand pump that requires several rapid strokes to prime; a fuel attendant can be arranged for a set time. The airfield is operated by the owner of the adjacent go-kart track, and radio may not always be staffed, so closing flight plans with FIS may be necessary. Parking areas are no longer boggy, but some surfaces can be stony or soft depending on weather. Facilities include a small building with electricity for charging phones and a basic toilet; camping is allowed but not recommended due to ground conditions and limited amenities. Walking to town is straightforward via the road to the west, where several coastal restaurants are available. For cash, the nearest ATM is in Löttorp, about 20 km south of Byxelkrog, or at the supermarket in Byxelkrog itself. See AIP/NOTAM for procedures.
