ENVA is a major airport that is friendly and accessible for general aviation. VFR and IFR operations are supported, with published VFR points and routes. ATC is described as helpful and precise, even with significant airline traffic. Self-service Avgas is available, payable by credit card or airBP Sterling Card, at a station near the threshold of runway 27; the area around the fuel station may have loose stones, so caution is advised to avoid propeller damage. Parking is free for aircraft under 2730 kg MTOW, with tie-down tires available.
Ground handling is efficient: a shuttle car, van, or minibus transports crews from GA parking to the terminal at no charge. Entry to the terminal is via the oversized baggage area. On return, reporting to the Avinor desk arranges transport back to the aircraft. The airport offers all standard transport options expected at a major facility: shuttle bus and train connections to Trondheim (about 30 km away), with bus departures every 10–15 minutes and a travel time of around 30 minutes; taxi service is available but expensive. Walking access to a nearby mall is possible.
Customs and passport control are handled in-terminal and are generally straightforward. Security checks can be thorough. All payments for landing fees are made online via the Avinor web page or using a Weekly Season Card; takeoff charges apply, calculated using Avinor’s online tool. Example: landing fee about €40 for an aircraft above 2 t MTOW.
Facilities for GA are basic at the parking/fuel area (no toilets or amenities), but the main terminal provides full services. The airport’s size and traffic do not hinder smooth GA operations, though procedures may vary; see AIP/NOTAM for current details.
