Security procedures are strict, with GA parking on the main apron limited to a maximum of 2 hours unless handling is pre-booked the day before. Overnight parking is possible via Tromsø Flyklubb on the southeast side; access gate width is 14 meters. Contact Sondre Fjelldal at +47 464 17 428 for assistance. Example: overnight parking about 600 NOK.
Jet A1 is available by BP or credit card; Avgas availability varies, with some reports of no Avgas and others noting self-service stations accepting credit cards. The self-service fuel station is located near the end of runway 19 via taxiways A or B. No tie-downs are available on the GA apron, and helicopters may operate nearby.
GA is welcome, and ATC provides helpful service for both VFR and IFR arrivals. VFR reporting points and routes are designed for safe approaches even in poor weather. IR pickups are straightforward. The PPR requirement in the AIP does not apply to private VFR flights; filing a flight plan suffices.
Ground transport to Tromsø city is available by bus departing approximately every 30 minutes from near the GA parking area. The walk from crew control to the terminal takes about 10 minutes. Facilities include a small GAT with friendly service, but credit cards may not be accepted for all services.
Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
