Civil Airfield Skien/Geiteryggen (ENSN)

PPR is required for all operations, which can be arranged via myPPR.no or by phone. The airfield is operated by local flying clubs and is not part of Avinor. Instrument procedures are no longer available; only VFR operations are possible. ATC refers to the field as Geiteryggen. The joint Farris Approach facility covers the area, and radio communication is straightforward, though Norwegian pronunciation may be encountered.

Avgas is available on the west side in the club area, with Jet A1 on the east apron in the commercial section; payment is by credit card at the office or card reader, which may be located away from the pump. Fuel prices are described as cheap. Parking is available near the flying club, sometimes requiring crossing the runway. No takeoff fee applies on weekends, but a fee of about €20 may be charged via myPPR.no for departures; payment can be made online or by credit card at the airfield. Example: takeoff fee about €20.

A cafeteria is present and open at times when pilots are around; a restaurant has also been described as good and relatively inexpensive. The airfield is generally quiet and friendly, with helpful local pilots often assisting with fueling or transport to town or hotels. Immigration officials may be present for international arrivals.

Skien town is nearby and accessible, sometimes with rides offered by locals or club members. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
