Bucket list item for many pilots. Weather can be poor with low ceilings, year round. Wind is the biggest problem though, depending on direction. There is a rather complex wind shear reporting and assessment system. Pilots have to confirm in writing that they have read a document describing this before flying to EKVG. AIP has the details.
Fees OK. We paid around 110€ for handling, landing and one night parking in August 2025.
Hotel in easy walking distance but it was booked out when we visited. Found accommodation in the village down by the sea, half an hour on foot.

Friendly and helpful staff, with uncomplicated service. Accommodation is available locally, including guesthouses in nearby towns; airport staff can assist with arrangements. A supermarket is located nearby. Transport options include hitchhiking, bus, or taxi. Example: landing and handling about €70. Weather conditions can change rapidly, with potential for strong wind shear. For customs, exit through the main arrival hall and complete a form before proceeding to the C office via the parking lot on the right.
