SaxonAir provides mandatory handling for GA at EGSH, with combined landing and handling fees typically about £60, including two hours of parking; additional parking is about £2 per hour. The SaxonAir lounge is well-appointed with complimentary drinks, and a heated hangar is available; visitor hangarage may be possible but availability is not always clear.

Taxis can be booked via SaxonAir, with typical city centre fares around £10 each way; a public bus stop is nearby, with fares around £5 each way for two people. A Holiday Inn and McDonald's are within five minutes’ walk from the terminal. The city offers notable attractions including a cathedral, castle (often closed for renovations), market, and museums.

ATC and ground staff are described as helpful and efficient. IFR arrivals use the single ILS (27); the 09 NDB approach requires an ADF. Radar vectors are provided on request; pilots should clarify IFR/VFR status when in Class G airspace. For cross-border flights, providing passenger details by email allows SaxonAir to handle customs formalities (GAR). Security screening is thorough, with all passengers subject to x-ray checks; certain items such as fuel strainers or toothpaste may be confiscated.
