Pilot Comments for EGPK
Achim
Great airport for a fuel stop, very efficient and accessible. Been there many times over the years and the turnaround is always very fast with the fuel truck arriving immediately on shutdown and invoice ready by the time you arrive at the FBO. The free drinks and cookies are great, a lot of very tasty Scottish delights. Cost for a 3.4t aircraft about 140 GBP.

Prestwick (EGPK) offers multiple runways with comprehensive instrument approaches and friendly ATC for general aviation. Several handling agents operate on the field, including Prestwick Executive Aviation Services, Prestwick Flight Centre (PFC), and Ocean Sky. Handling is mandatory. PFC is noted for being the traditional GA option and generally less expensive than other FBOs, though prices have increased. Example: landing fee about £30 including VAT, with an additional £20 if fuel is not uplifted. Another example: landing and handling about €250. Ocean Sky provides efficient service, a comfortable lounge with refreshments, and avgas delivered by bowser; handling fee about £30, landing and navigation charge about £30, first 24 hours parking free, then about £20 per day.
Facilities include lounges with snacks and drinks; the "VIP-Lounge" at Prestwick Executive Aviation Services is a container building but offers a pleasant stay. PFC provides coffee, clean toilets, and a private gate shared with the tower but operates only from 0900 to 1700. The airport is not busy despite its size and has a strong weather record.
Ground transport options include taxis available after a short walk of around 200 yards from PFC; however, PFC is relatively far from main road access points.
Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
