Pilot Comments for EGPE
Sebastian
PPR straightforward and friendly by phone. After vacating the runway, parking via Follow-Me, and shortly afterward Avgas from the truck for €3.22 per litre.
After that you’re left on the apron and must follow the “Landing Fees” sign. There you’ll find a room with a letterbox and forms to fill out. You have to add VAT yourself to the 20 GBP landing fee and 8 GBP per night parking fee, then drop cash or a form with your credit card details into the letterbox. Next door the handling agent is waiting, but they won’t provide any information unless you pay for handling. Then follow the green line on the apron surface and you arrive at Gate 1, which serves as the GA entrance and exit. Be sure to have your license and a hi-vis vest with you to get back to the aircraft!
Then about 10–15 minutes by taxi into town—rental cars are also available on the field.
Overall OK—you can tell the field is geared more toward low-cost carriers.

Highland Aviation handles PPR and mandatory handling for aircraft under 6 t, with forms available at highlandaviation.com. Double PPR is required: one for the airport and one for handling. Handling fees for small GA typically range from £20 to £40, with parking about £10 per night; landing fees for aircraft up to 2 t are about £60. Example: total charges (landing, handling, parking) about €130. Direct international arrivals are classified as "commercial," resulting in significantly higher landing fees (about €180), while domestic arrivals pay roughly half that amount. IFR and VFR operations are both supported, with efficient ATC and no additional IFR departure surcharges.
Avgas is available from Highland Aviation using standard payment methods; Jet A-1 requires an account with World Fuels or Air BP, or handling via Signature Flight Services. Refueling is quick and efficient. Pilots may walk between aircraft and terminal areas wearing high-visibility vests; walking times to the main terminal or bus stop range from 4 to 6 minutes. The main terminal has a cafeteria with apron views, and the Courtyard Hotel is within walking distance. Car hire is available on site, and regular buses connect to Inverness city center.
Pilots should carry their license and ID to access airside areas. Procedures may involve self-service payment of landing/parking fees in designated rooms or boxes. Some reports note water contamination in fuel samples after rain; check fuel quality before departure. For direct international flights, fee structures differ substantially; see AIP/NOTAM for procedural details.
Overall, EGPE offers friendly service and efficient GA handling through Highland Aviation, though direct international arrivals incur much higher costs than domestic flights.
