Tatum
Great airfield with a great community feel.
There are actually two runways: tarmac and a north-side grass runway of the same directions.
Runway 26 has lights but you need to check when the tower is managed after sunset.
The cafe is on Just eat and so you can order food prior to arrival - I like that because it beats the queues during busy times.

PPR is required and should be arranged by phone before arrival. The circuit is strictly prescribed due to neighbor relations, always south of the runway, with a detailed diagram available on the website. Overhead joins are standard; do not descend below 1500 ft QFE on the dead side to avoid glider traffic operating from a grass strip north of the field. Direct approaches may be possible on request. Hi-vis vests are mandatory.
The airfield uses a tarmac strip on a larger disused RAF runway, with parking on long grass. Landing fees are payable at a window next to the C door. Example: landing fee about £15. Card payment is accepted.
A café with an English pub atmosphere is available on site. Avgas and jet fuel are available; card payment for fuel is possible.
Shobdon village is a short walk uphill past apple orchards, offering a shop and post office. The Church of Saint John the Evangelist nearby features notable architecture and guidebooks. The Shobdon arches are accessible via a grassy avenue past the church. Pembridge village, with restaurants and an art gallery, is about 50 minutes’ walk; taxi information is listed on the airfield’s website.
Strict circuit procedures and glider activity require careful attention; see AIP/NOTAM for details.
