Nottingham (EGBN) remains active and welcoming, with two good condition tarmac runways (09-27 and 03-21) and plenty of hard parking. The airfield is friendly and easy to use, with a well-regarded café offering a good cake selection. Example: landing fee about £15; overnight parking about £20. Fuel is described as good value.
Lights are available for night visits, with pilot-controlled lighting possible if arranged in advance. Airways joining and exit procedures involve coordination with East Midlands Approach (134.175), who can provide Basic or Traffic Service, airways joins, and zone transits. For IFR departures, calling East Midlands controllers at 01332 852993 or 01332 852 852 x2233 before taxiing allows them to coordinate your clearance and squawk ahead of time. Approaching from the south, East Midlands may offer a Class D zone crossing or you can route under the CTA using the EM listening squawk before switching to Nottingham.
