Nordholz Spieka Airport (EDXN)

EDXN features a well-maintained, long grass runway located north of the hangars. The airfield is known for its friendly and helpful local community, with cold drinks available in the clubhouse for a small fee. Operations require attention to the adjacent Nordholz military control zone; arrivals and departures typically involve initial contact with Nordholz Tower when the CTR is active, with integration into their approach sequence, while direct contact with Spieka INFO applies when the CTR is inactive. Two designated traffic patterns for powered aircraft are in use. Glider activity is present north of the main runway.

Fees are low. Example: landing about €10. Another example: landing €8 plus outside parking €4. Payment is cash only; card payments are not accepted.

Fuel (AVGAS and oil) is available on site. Overnight parking and hangar space may be available on request. The airfield lacks direct public transport links; taxis are typically required for onward travel, and Cuxhaven can be reached by folding bike in about one hour. The Aeronauticum aviation museum is located approximately 15–20 minutes on foot from the airfield.
