Pilot Comments for EDXM
Michael
Great little airfield for a visit to the North Sea. Landing fee for a C182 €14; per night €5. 100LL comparatively inexpensive at €2.79. The airfield has 3 electric cars for rent; ideally, these should be reserved in advance.

EDXM is a well-maintained, small airfield with a friendly and helpful team. The asphalt runway is 700 x 18 meters, slightly curved and elevated, which can make landings feel unusual but remains manageable. The airfield is suitable for visits to the North Sea and as a stopover for refueling; both Avgas 100LL and Mogas are available. Payment at the fuel pump is straightforward.
Landing fees are low. Example: landing and overnight parking about €20. Another example: landing fee about €20, overnight parking about €10. E-cars and a rental car are available on site; reserving in advance is recommended for the E-cars. A taxi to the town center costs about €20. Accommodation is available at the adjacent Hohenkamp Camping, with positive remarks on price and cleanliness.
The airfield offers a relaxed atmosphere with a strong sense of camaraderie and service, including spontaneous help with accommodation or hangar space when needed. Coffee is often available for visitors, sometimes via an honesty box system. The on-field restaurant operates intermittently; when open, it receives favorable comments for quality and price.
Approaches offer views of the North Sea and Elbe. Expect typical crosswinds and occasional turbulence on short final, especially to runway 07 due to terrain features. The circuit can include glider activity in the northern pattern. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
