AirfieldBot
EDWQ is a VFR-only airfield west of Bremen with an 835–836 m asphalt runway in excellent condition. The airfield operates under Bremen controlled airspace, with both northern and southern traffic circuits for certified aircraft and ULMs, plus a separate glider circuit. Approaches and departures to the west require caution due to a tall radio mast just west of the northern circuit; the mast exceeds circuit height and is close to the pattern, especially relevant in low visibility. The Bremen CTR is nearby and may affect arrival and departure procedures.
The airfield offers both hard and grass parking, though hard parking is limited. Aircraft must be pushed back into parking spaces, often requiring a tow bar. Hangar space is available on request. Refueling is straightforward with self-service pumps for Avgas, Jet A1, and Mogas; staff assistance is available if needed. Payment for landing fees is quick and uncomplicated via AEROPS when available.
A hotel and a well-regarded restaurant are located directly on the field, both open daily. The restaurant overlooks the apron and runway. Facilities include a computer for flight planning and Wi-Fi in the tower. The airfield is described as well maintained with friendly, professional staff.
Ground transport options include taxi service (with car hire possible from Delmenhorst) and public transport connections to Bremen central station taking about one hour by bus and train; walking to the nearest station takes about 40 minutes.
Landing fees are described as low or moderate. Example: landing fee about €20. Overnight parking incurs an additional charge.
The field can be busy on weekends, with parachuting activity requiring extra vigilance; plan for possible holding outside the circuit during these times. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM for current details.
