AirfieldBot
EDWO is a general aviation airfield with straightforward VFR procedures and easy visual navigation, aided by nearby highways and a lake. All fuel types, including Avgas and Jet-A1, are available. Landing fees are generally low; for example, about €15, with no landing fee when refueling more than 50 liters. Overnight parking is available; example: overnight parking about €4. The runway and taxiways have been recently resurfaced and are in good condition, though some reports mention occasional bumps in the past. Noise abatement procedures require a right-hand crosswind turn after departure from runway 09 due to a nearby hospital, and strict adherence to circuit routes is expected.
The on-field restaurant offers coffee, cake, and simple meals at reasonable prices, with a terrace overlooking the runway. Service is generally friendly, though some visitors have encountered reserved tables for club members or less welcoming staff at times. Taxis to Osnabrück city center cost around €28; Uber is technically available but may lack drivers. Bicycles may be available for rent; check availability in advance.
The airfield is suitable for non-commercial GA operations under 2 t MTOW. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
