Northeim Airport (EDVN)

Grass airfield in a valley setting, with approaches described as scenic but requiring attention: runway 11 approach is interesting but manageable, while departures from 29 and right-hand downwind 29 demand good climb performance due to rising terrain and a nearby hill. The field can be hard to spot visually and on radio until late in the circuit, especially when approaching runway 11. Runway surface is grass, sometimes wavy or with high grass, but generally well maintained; some reports mention occasional roughness.

PPR is required on weekdays and is described as straightforward by phone; flying without an airfield operator is possible after ground staff briefing. No fuel available at the field. Overnight hangar space is offered. Facilities include a small bistro that is usually open, though at times only a drinks vending machine is available and may be sparsely stocked. The airfield is somewhat remote with clear signage for access; visitors should note a "no entry" sign after crossing railway tracks and turn right before the allotment gardens.
