What more could one improve at a German aerodrome? Nothing! Friendly tower/AFIS staff, a pleasant, unpretentious and affordable restaurant, warmly run, with a terrace. And the icing on the cake: the Avgas price at a self-serve pump (card payment) is comparatively low. Trust-based, accommodating landing fee arrangement even without aeroapps. 'We’ll make a bank transfer!' — 'Roger.' The approach to runway 07, due to a large industrial building on final, is a little scary? demanding? something to get used to? In any case, it’s ultimately easy to fly. In the circuit, flying around the Kaliberg serves as a clearly visible reference point.

EDVM is a general aviation airfield with a 1200 m asphalt runway, suitable for VFR operations and offering a straightforward approach. The circuit is large and designed to avoid nearby villages, with parachute activity and gyrocopter traffic common; parachute drops are automatically announced on frequency, and a separate smaller circuit exists for ULMs. ATIS is broadcast regularly, and the tower provides friendly, pragmatic service. Payment for landing fees is typically via AeroPS. PPR is required, which can be arranged through the official website or by phone.

The on-field restaurant in the tower closed in February 2024; alternatives include a Greek restaurant 600 meters away and a Burger King 2 km from the airfield. Maintenance facilities (Werft) are present on site.
The apron has some areas with loose stones or rough surfaces; caution is advised when taxiing due to potential propeller damage. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
